We work with individuals and families to prevent evictions, secure temporary and permanent housing solutions, and address the underlying causes of homelessness. At Victory Programs Foundation, we give hope and change the lives of women experiencing situational homelessness in Huntersville, North Carolina who need a temporary place to live. Brittani named her baby girl Deavyne and set out to create a different life for her daughter than she had known growing up.

She was sleeping with her baby girl on a couch in a crowded mobile home. Initially, many parents and family members of the over 120 people Victory Programs supports were, too. Their children had aged out of Hampton Roads’ special education system, and were ready for adult services and support.

Fatima heard about Victory Programs through a friend of a friend, and after having joined the program, she quickly began working on her high school equivalency through Penn Foster. She also applied to and was accepted into the Residential Program. Fatima and Julian moved into the house and started making friends with other moms and staff. A residential staff member had a huge influence on her and became like a grandmother to her, something Fatima never had. Stephanie grew up in generational poverty, became a mom as a teenager and dropped out of school.

However, it is estimated that the charity is unable to support 4 out of 5 families that need its services due to lack of space and Tide’s partnership will help address some of this need, in the space of laundry specifically. VNAP provides state tax credits as an incentive for businesses and individuals to contribute directly to non-profit organizations that serve economically disadvantaged citizens, such as Victory Programs. We are one of the organizations approved by the state of Virginia to distribute these credits.

The success of our ministry is due in large part to the generosity of individuals and businesses who, in sharing our mission, have selflessly offered their volunteer and monetary assistance. This support has enabled us to provide services to over 355,000 individuals to date. For more than fifteen years, Tide Loads of Hope has provided renewed hope and optimism through the basic comfort of clean clothing following a natural disaster. Created in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the program has benefitted over 90,000 families across the U.S. and Canada. Now, Tide Loads of Hope is expanding the program to include other moments of need where access to clean clothes is essential.
